About Travelfaire of Dunwoody — Now Global EscapesGlobal Escapes

In June 1984, Celia Gardner opened a travel agency in Dunwoody. She’d started her career in Florida in 1972, moved to Atlanta, and decided the way to do this well was to know people — not transactions, people. Forty years later, that’s still the whole idea.

Travelfaire built its reputation the slow way. Repeat clients. Referrals from friends. The kind of trust that comes from someone remembering that you hate early flights, that your anniversary is in October, that last time the connection in Charlotte was a nightmare and let’s not do that again.

The team

Celia Gardner founded Travelfaire and still leads the group trips — the ones where twenty people who started as strangers come home as friends. Her specialties are honeymoons and romantic travel, group departures, cruises, and Europe. She’s a Certified Sandals Specialist.

Leslie Shahan joined in 2004. She started her travel career in Florida too, which is why she knows the Caribbean and the Florida coast the way most people know their own neighborhood. She plans leisure and corporate travel, and she is unreasonably good at the details nobody else thinks about.

Recognized by the people we serve

Best of Perimeter “Best Travel Agency” — 2021 and 2022, two years running. Best of Business Award in the Travel Agency category, 2009. Those came from clients and neighbors voting, which is the only kind of award worth anything.

A new chapter, same people

In 2025, Travelfaire joined Global Escapes — a luxury travel agency founded in Athens, Georgia in 1988 and a member of the Signature Travel Network. Tiffany Hines leads it, and she’s earned a few things of her own along the way, including the SBA’s Women in Business Champion Award.

What the merger changed: our Dunwoody advisors now have Signature’s supplier relationships behind them — upgrades, amenities, and access that a small independent agency simply can’t negotiate alone.

What it didn’t change: Celia’s still here. Leslie’s still here. Same office on Mount Vernon Road, same phone number, same people who answer it.
