Skiing during the holidays is the perfect vacation for the most wonderful time of year, but it can get pricey, especially when booked at the last minute. By planning your ski trip as early as possible, you can enjoy the benefits of better pricing and more availability when it comes to flights, accommodations, activities, and lift tickets. The money you save on these items can be spent instead on a fabulous dinner or shopping so that you can enjoy more than just hitting the slopes with your friends and family!
1. Premium Dates
Hotels and condos book up very quickly, especially the week between Christmas and New Years, so if you have your heart set on certain dates around the holidays, it is best to book as early as possible. If your dates are flexible, try looking at the weeks before Christmas and after New Years. If you’re locked in, we will help you plan the best experience for your ski vacation. Be forewarned: it’s almost impossible to find last-minute deals around the holidays, so choose your dates as soon as possible, and we’ll start planning the perfect holiday ski trip for you.
2. Choice Accommodations
By booking your ski vacation early, you are more apt to find availability at the perfect ski-in ski-out hotel or condo that is walking distance from town and all the best restaurants. Our travel consultants know the best accommodations on the mountain, and if given enough time in advance, they can secure it for you. Whether you want a ski valet, an outdoor pool and hot tub, or exercise facilities, just let us know and we will find the accommodations that best fit your unique needs.
3. Preferred Activities
Most ski resorts offer fun activities other than skiing when it’s time for a break from the slopes. If you book early, you can be one of the few people to ride the gondola up to the top of the mountain to eat dinner, go snowmobiling and see the back country, or spend some time at the spa. Our consultants can find that horse-drawn sleigh ride to a romantic dinner on New Year’s Eve, while the rest of the masses are stuck planning last-minute New Year’s dinners. By planning early, you can schedule these fun activities around what works best for you, rather than having to plan your vacation around whatever is left.
4. Less Expensive Flights
Flights can get expensive, especially around the holidays, so once we know your dates we can get your flights squared away as soon as possible. The closer to your date of departure , the more expensive flights will be, so by booking far in advance we can help you get your preferred flights and seats so you can experience stress-free travel.
5. Deals on Lift Tickets
If you haven’t already purchased a season pass, it’s a great time to look into it. For instance, the Epic Pass gives you unlimited access to Vail, Beaver Creek, Whistler Blackcomb, Breckenridge, Keystone, Park City, Heavenly, Northstar, Kirkwood, Stowe, Wilmont, Afton Alps, Mt. Brighton, Perisher and Arapahoe Basin. However, if you miss the slim window to purchase the pass, we can help you reserve your lift tickets ahead of time so you don’t have to wait in line the first day on the mountain while everyone else enjoys the slopes. We may be able to get dual lift tickets for you to nearby ski resorts or special deals for kids. Let us know your preferences and we will figure out the rest!
